Clinitouch launches into a new continent to support patients with diabetes in India

Pioneering partnership between Clinitouch and MJ Biopharm will see proven remote patient monitoring technology support patients across India.

We are thrilled to announce our newest addition to our global Partner Program - a leading biopharmaceutical company specialising in producing life-saving medication, with a focus on diabetes management. This marks a first for Clinitouch, expanding not only into a brand-new country, but a new continent.

Like many other countries, non-communicable disease mortality is on the rise. Cardiovascular diseases, chronic respiratory diseases and cancers are amongst the leading causes, but high levels of diabetes prevalence amongst adults is causing particular strain. There are estimated to be 77 million adults with Type 2 diabetes in India and almost 25 million who are prediabetics. One of the main challenges is that over 50% of people are unaware of their diabetic status. This can lead to health complications if not detected and treated early(1).

With MJ Biopharm having a wealth of experience in the sector, this makes diabetes management the perfect focus for their first project. We have been working closely with the team to:

  • Enhance patient-clinician connectivity
  • Improve patient self-management through boosting education
  • Support clinicians to have more informed consultations

Adding Clinitouch to MJ Biopharm’s range of services will support healthcare teams to manage larger caseloads outside of hospitals and clinics, which will help to improve access to care.  MJ Biopharm are also looking to expand into conditions outside of diabetes in future projects, with the aim to improve healthcare for patients across India.

Akshay Shah & Bruce Adams

Akshay Shah, Business Development Manager at MJ Biopharm, commented:

“This promises to be a transformative partnership between MJ Biopharm and Clinitouch, set to reshape patient care in India. Our mission at MJ Biopharm is to improve healthcare, and this collaboration aligns perfectly with that vision.

“With Clinitouch's remote patient monitoring tech, we aim to transcend boundaries, empowering patients to manage their health and connect with healthcare providers. Real-time monitoring, regardless of location, promises timely actions and better outcomes. This partnership reflects our commitment to improving lives and making a difference in countless individuals' well-being across India.”

Bruce Adams, Commercial Director at Clinitouch, added: “It’s been clear at every stage of conversations that strong synergies of shared vision and values exist between our organisations. MJ Biopharm brings a wealth of expertise, passion, and drive to this exciting partnership. We look forward to supporting the health needs of people with Diabetes (and beyond) by providing an invaluable tool for clinics and hospitals across India.”

MJ Biopharm’s announcement follows our recent launch of taking Clinitouch into Namibia with Clinico Health Group, completeting our trio of partners in Africa. Backed by the support of the UK’s Department for Business and Trade, we’re proud to be growing our Partner Program to help improve patient care worldwide. If you’d like to work with us or hear more about what it’s like to be a Clinitouch partner, visit our Partner Program page.
